Getting started with Zokiar

This guide takes you from a new account to live customer conversations. Most businesses finish the basic setup in under an hour.

1. Connect your WhatsApp number

Open the dashboard and start the Embedded Signup flow. You will sign in with the Meta Business account that owns your WhatsApp number and approve the connection. Your number is then registered with WhatsApp.

You need access to the Meta Business account and admin rights on the WhatsApp Business account. Ask the account owner if you are not sure.

2. Set up message templates

WhatsApp only allows business-initiated messages, such as order updates and broadcasts, when they use a template that Meta has approved. Create your templates in the dashboard and submit them for approval. Approval usually takes a short while.

3. Turn on and train AI replies

  1. Go to your AI settings and describe your business, products, prices and common questions.
  2. Set the tone and what the AI should never promise.
  3. Choose when the AI should hand over to a person, such as when a customer asks for one.
  4. Test with your own phone before you turn it on for customers.

4. Add your team

Invite team members and choose how new conversations are assigned: round-robin, weighted, tag-based, or manual. Give each person only the features they need.

5. Add the website chat widget (optional)

Paste this snippet before the closing </body> tag on your website. Your Client ID is shown on the Integrations page.

<script src="https://portal.zokiar.com/static/webchat-widget.js"
        data-client-id="YOUR_CLIENT_ID"></script>

6. Connect Shopify (optional)

In Shopify, add two webhooks under Settings → Notifications → Webhooks, both sent as JSON:

  • Order creation → the Order creation URL shown on your Integrations page
  • Order fulfillment → the Order fulfillment URL shown on your Integrations page

Add the Shopify webhook secret to the Integrations page so Zokiar can verify that requests really come from Shopify.

7. Connect Facebook and Instagram Lead Ads (optional)

Lead Ads need Meta app review for each Page. Once approved, subscribe your Page to the leadgen webhook using the URL on your Integrations page.

8. Go live

Check the inbox, send a test message, and confirm that a handoff reaches a team member. Then share your WhatsApp number with customers.
